My stay at Sun Farm Hawaii was amazing in so many ways! I meant to stay for less than a week after visiting family on the island and ended up extending my flight an extra month because I loved the farm and the people there so much. It’s by far the best farm I’ve ever worked on, the projects vary, sometimes they’re tough, but they’re always very rewarding. After work, I usually hung out on the farm or went to a beach nearby, and on the weekends I’d visit other parts of the island. It’s easy to be invested in the projects and relax after working because it feels like home. It’s a beautiful farm that’s sustained by lots of love; everyone who lives on the property contributes in a different way whether they’re a volunteer or not, and the sense of community there is so special. You will love this farm if you enjoy seeing a big difference after your work is done, if you like intentional and interesting conversations with people from lots of different backgrounds, and if you’re comfortable in nature or trying to be! Sun Farm Hawaii is an example of true ‘ohana. I found everything I was looking for on a farm here. Good people, who live in unity & care about each other and the land, a variety of beautiful fruit trees, veggies & herbs, special mindfulness events for Mind, Body Soul. On occasion, you might catch a special yoga class, or live music during sunset. The daily tasks are always different which keeps things exciting, more interesting, and less exhausting than your average farm work. One of the most beautiful issues I was warned about before arriving was that the only availability problem is no one truly wants to leave. This is true through and through in the most special way. This farm is a motion of growing and getting better every day, together. The location is perfect, the beautiful beaches are just 10 minutes away, the hikes are in your backyard, and anything one could need from a city is just 10-15 minutes away. There are sometimes cars or mopeds available for rent on-site or very close by. Most importantly- this place is simply Magical. Thank you for your Love, Sun Farm!

Staying at this farm was one of the best experiences of my life. My original WWOOF hosts canceled my friend and I’s stay 48 hours before my flight left. I called Sun Farm on a whim and ended up finding the perfect home for my stay. Marcos was so accommodating and caring: especially with the late notice. The community of the farm makes this place shine. The family
envelops this farm with a big hug and makes you genuinely motivated to work because you love to see it thrive. The actual farming aspect of the job is enjoyable but there is also a lifestyle to experience here. The farm also has a yoga branch, on occasion they offer meditation and mindful exercises. They have good connections for cars, surfboards, and moped rentals too. I would recommend this farm to absolutely anyone who is interested in a loving community and healing from the land <3
